TeamGB’s Matt Weston became Great Britain’s first male European skeleton champion for 15 years with a landmark victory in Altenberg.
When asked about his achievement he said “I said after winning here last week that I wanted to do it again so it feels pretty sweet to have done that”.
This success makes Matt the first British man to take the European title since Kristan Bromley in Cesana in 2008 and also marks his country’s first European gold since Lizzy Yarnold won in Igls in 2015.
